GREENSBORO, N.C. — A 4-year-old girl died last week after being left unattended in a car on a day when temperatures reached about 80 degrees, Greensboro police said.

Her father, Shyheim Deion Moore, 30, has been arrested and charged with felony child abuse.

Authorities said Moore brought his daughter to Moses Cone Hospital on Sept. 24, where she died that night. Police described the death as accidental but preventable.

Moore was arrested Sept. 25 and is being held at Greensboro Jail on a $250,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court Nov. 4. Police said they know what Moore was doing at the time but did not release details. The investigation is ongoing.
