1-year-old baby dies after being left in hot car, deputies investigating

SAN ANTONIO - A one-year-old baby has died after being found unresponsive in a hot car.

According to the Bexar County Sheriff's Office, deputies were called to the scene when the baby's parents called them and told them they found their one-year-old daughter unresponsive in the vehicle.

The child was pronounced dead of heat-related injuries at 6:38 p.m. on Thursday. Investigators are interviewing the parents to determine what exactly happened. Charges have yet to be filed.

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — The parents of a 1-year-old girl who died after being left in a hot car are now facing charges.

The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office reports Shavetta Leandra Combs and Aaron Michael Combs, both 27-years old, have been charged with injury to a child causing serous bodily injury or death.

Their arrests come after the death of their 1-year-old daughter, identified as Ari’yanna Sanora Combs.

The girl was found unresponsive in their car. Her parents reportedly forgot she was in the back seat when they returned to their home on Parish Drive after picking up their other children from school.

One of the siblings noticed Ari’yanna was not in the home and the parents found her in the car.

They called 9-1-1 and EMs attempted to save the child’s life, but was pronounced dead at around 6:38 p.m.
