15-month-old baby dies in hot car
A 15-month-old baby died in a hot car off of Ragan Way in Alta Sierra Sunday afternoon, the Nevada County Sheriff's Office confirmed.
Life saving measures were attempted by first responders, but the baby — whose name is currently being withheld by The Union at the request of the Sheriff’s Office — could not be saved.
A 911 call for the incident came in to the Sheriff's Office at 4:54 p.m. with first responders arriving to a driveway off of Ragan Way.
"This is a very very sad situation for all involved, for the family and for the first responders that tried to administer life saving measures," NCSO Administrative Analyst Ashley Quadros said.
As of now, no charges or arrests related to the death have occurred as the incident is still under investigation by NCSO detectives in coordination with Nevada County Consolidated Fire District.
Detectives will likely be looking at the autopsy of the baby.
