Police: 11-month-old baby dies in tragic accident
An 11-month-old baby died
Wednesday in what Lauderhill police are calling a tragic accident.
The baby's parents, along with their four other
children, unloaded groceries from their Ford Explorer and into their home at
Lauderhill Pointe Apartments, 3120 NW 19th St., said Lt. Gregory Solowsky,
Lauderhill police spokesman.
After about an hour, the parents realized their
baby was not inside the house, Solowsky said. They went back out to the SUV
parked on the west side of the parking lot and found their baby inside.
They called 911 and immediately began
administering CPR to their baby, who was unresponsive, Solowsky said. Paramedics
continued performing CPR on the way to Plantation General Hospital. The baby was
pronounced dead at the hospital at 7:02 p.m.
The parents were being extremely cooperative with
investigators, and the entire family is very distraught, Solowsky said.
"The family is together, grieving the loss of the
11-month-old child," Solowsky said.
