Deputies: Child Found Dead in Car at Apartment

Columbia, SC (WLTX) - Richland County Sheriff deputies
are investigating after a 4-year-old was found dead in a car.
Deputies say they responded to
Richland Parish Apartments located at 1212 Metze Road at approximately 5 p.m.
Sunday.
Upon arrival, a 4-year-old was found in a black
Volkswagen Beetle. EMS attempted to perform CPR, but the child was pronounced
dead at the scene.
Investigators say the vehicle belonged to a neighbor.
At this point, they say the vehicle was unlocked, and the child crawled inside
and was unable to get out.

COLUMBIA, SC (WACH/AP) - Richland County Coroner Gary
Watts has identified the four-year old that died under suspicious circumstances
Sunday afternoon.
Watts says that four-year-old Amir
Sarcuar-Savar-Savour died as a result of hyperthermia, due to being enclosed in
a hot vehicle.
Watts says more testing will be done, but the cause of
death will likely not change.
Richland County Sheriff's
Department spokesperson Curtis Wilson said deputies received a call around 5pm
Sunday from a concerned citizen about a child in a car who wasn't moving.
Deputies responded to the
Richland Parish Apartment at 1212 Metze Road in Columbia and found a 4-year-old
boy who was unresponsive.
EMS was called and attempted to perform CPR, but the
boy was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators do not know how
the child got into the car and are calling the death suspicious.
Wilson said this is an ongoing
investigation.
