Investigators are questioning a couple in the death of their 19-month-old son who was left in a hot car in south Georgia.

An incident report from the Dawson Police Department says 28-year-old Antonio Richardson told authorities his wife -- 32-year-old Iseeta Prince -- started her Honda Accord Tuesday afternoon to cool it down before going to work. He says she put their son -- Antonio Richardson Junior -- in his car seat.

Police says Richardson told them he and Prince were in a car next to the boy and that the toddler was in the car for at least 15 minutes as the heat index soared above 100 degrees.

Richardson went to open the car door 15 minutes later to find the vehicle had stopped running and was blowing hot air. The boy appeared lifeless.

The child was rushed to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

No charges have been filed. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has been called in to help with the investigation.
