WESTAMPTON, N.J. -- A 2-year-old boy left asleep in the family car when his
parents returned home from a wedding was found dead hours later, authorities
said.
Sallu Alagi Alghali's lifeless body was found Sunday afternoon in the rear seat
of his parents' 1999 Toyota Camry, according to the Burlington County
Prosecutor's Office, which is investigating the child's death.
No criminal charges had been filed as of Monday evening.
Authorities said they were told the boy's mother, Kadie Mcrae, and father,
Salieu Alghali, returned home from a wedding with the boy and two siblings, ages
10 and 17, around 4 a.m. Sunday.
The couple woke up Sunday afternoon and realized their son was still in the car,
the prosecutor's office said.
They called police and emergency medical personnel when they could not wake the
child, authorities said.
Police said the boy was dead when they arrived at the home shortly after 2:20
p.m.
An autopsy was scheduled for Monday afternoon. Results were not immediately
released.
