A baby who was left in a van for about two hours Friday died during the weekend,
police said on Monday.
Officer Scott Walton identified the baby as 9-week-old Noelle Ross.
Police received a call about 5:50 p.m. Friday that the child had apparently been
left in the family's van accidentally after they returned home from running
errands.
When officers arrived at the family's home in the 10700 block of East 84th
Street, EMSA medics and firefighters were working to revive her. Ross was
transported St. Francis Medical Center where doctors managed to get her
breathing on her own.
Walton said that she was later pronounced dead.
The baby's parents said the family's three older children were brought in from
the van Friday afternoon, however each of parents believed that the other person
was bringing the baby inside.
Child Crisis detectives are investigating. They will forward their findings to
the District Attorney's Office to determine whether charges are warranted.
