Baby dies inside
car in Zanesville
A one-month old baby boy has died
after being found inside a car on one of the hottest days of the year in
Zanesville.
Around 6:25 p.m. Tuesday evening, the Muskingum County
Sheriff’s Office received a call about the baby not breathing at Eagleview
Apartments located at 80 Eagleview Drive in Zanesville.
Deputies
found the baby unresponsive inside the car and performed CPR until EMS
responders arrived, but the medics were unable to save him.
The baby
was pronounced dead on the scene.
According to Sheriff Matt Lutz, the
investigation is ongoing, and while an autopsy has not yet been done, the
early indication is that the baby died due to high temperatures.
Temperatures in Zanesville reached a high of 93 degrees on Tuesday.
No arrests have been made at this time.
