2-year-old dies in
apparent hot car in Huntsville
HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - Huntsville police are investigating a
child’s death.
Madison County Coroner Deputy Coroner Tyler Berryhill
said the victim is a 2-year-old girl. He said it appears to be a hot car
death, but they have scheduled an autopsy Friday to confirm the cause.
Police said the child was left in the car for a lengthy period of time
during the day Thursday. Investigators say a parent was driving the car and
pulled over outside a business on South Memorial Parkway near Airport Road
after realizing something was wrong. The child was dead in the backseat.
The call went out to police between 5 and 6 p.m.
There were no
sign of injuries.
The death has been ruled accidental.
The
investigation is ongoing.
