Baby left in
vehicle dies, discovered at child care facility in Luther
A baby has died after being found unresponsive in a hot vehicle
Friday.
Emergency crews responded to reports of an unresponsive infant
around 5:00 p.m. at the Apple Creek Learning Center located in the 800 block
of S. Birch St.
According to the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office
public information officer Mark Opgrande, the 4-month-old girl was left in
her grandmothers car.
We're told the grandmother who has custody of
the child, believed she dropped the baby off at the daycare earlier in the
day before heading to work. Officials say around 5:00 p.m. when the
grandmother returned to the facility to pick up her grandchild they
discovered the baby had been left in the vehicle, and was deceased.
The Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office is assisting the Luther Police
Department with the investigation.
