In Providence Village Has Died
PROVIDENCE VILLAGE,
Texas (CBSDFW.COM) – A 4-year-old boy who was found unresponsive by family
members inside a vehicle on Thursday afternoon died today, police said.
Kaysen Neyland was pronounced dead at Children’s Medical Center in
Dallas, where he had been airlifted after his discovery.
The boy was
found outside a home in the 10000 block of Franklin Street just before 5
p.m. June 20.
“This remains an on-going investigation involving
multiple state and local agencies,” said Aubrey Police Chief Charles
Kreidler. “Any conclusions drawn at this point are speculative and could be
determinental to our investigation as we continue our pursuit of information
in this case.”
It’s not known how long the child was in the vehicle
before being found by the family member.
Police said further
investigation is necessary and no criminal charges have been filed at this
point.
An autopsy will be performed by the Dallas County Medical
Examiner, police said.
Temperatures were in the mid-90s around 5:00
p.m. Thursday.
The police department has reported the incident to the
Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, as required by statute,
and as part of the continued investigation the department has requested
their assistance.
